Love in Odessa (Daisy’s Story)

Daisy is one of the rocks on a Rock Trek through Europe. This is how her story begins (by Eileen S.).

Today we walked the 192 steps of the Potyomkin Stairs (also known as Potemkin Stairs) that lead up from the entrance to Odessa’s port and then walked further into an oppressive heat thankfully made bearable by an enormous number of trees shading the wide boulevards.

Potěmkinovy Stairs

Past the magnificent Opera Theatre into the great green park where a large elegant bandstand stood… and there Daisy was laid.

Daisy, of course, hates the way she looks – covered in pretty flowers – and has complained endlessly about this. “I want to be ugly like the other rocks,” she says. Well, I disagree. I hope Daisy comes to love herself by listening to the many voices around her exclaiming the beauty of the flowers and trees. There I hope some small child will find her and decide to be her friend.

Then maybe Daisy will feel loved.

… to be continued.

Daisy (EU13) was last seen in the Odessa, Ukraine. Have you seen her or would you like to continue this story? If so, let us know!
