Painting Ben

This is how the story of Ben begins (by Kason, grade 8).

Once there  was a rock named Ben. He had a happy life in the Middletown library. He read books all day. His life was good.

The library was painting their walls red one day. Ben lost his balance and fell into the red paint. The janitor helped him out of the paint. Suddenly Ben broke out in green and orange spots. Then his hair turned blue. He had an allergic reaction to the paint!

To be continued…

Ben (GSD16) is part of a series of monster rocks created by students of Gideon School District in Missouri. We invite you to visit all GSD rocks and submit your comments and feedback, it will be much appreciated.

If you have found this rock or would like to continue this story, let us know!

  1. Oh no, Ben! Did the paint affect your eyes? That would be horrible – no more reading. Hope your life doesn’t get very “rocky” now… 🙂

  2. Ben may be my favorite rock! I think he and I would get along great because I love the library, as well. There is not much better than reading, and being in a room full of books all day is great fun. I was a librarian for two years and LOVED it! Hopefully, Ben will recover from his unfortunate circumstance and get back to the life he enjoys…reading! Can’t wait to see how this story unfolds!
