REPOSTING: Cesar Chavez

This post was originally published in 2012 but we love the Social Justice Project and wanted to revisit some of these great stories.

This is how the story of Cesar Chavez begins (by Isaias, elementary).

There are many Social Justice leaders, and I am one of them. First I was born on March 31, 1927. I was born in Yuma Arizona. I was named after my Grandpa, Cesario Chaves. Next, I was a farm worker. I farmed most of my life. I worked in California.

Finally I boycotted picking table grapes for higher wages. I wanted to see a change. I died on April 23, 1993 in San Luis Arizona.

I am Cesar Chavez!

To be continued…

Cesar Chavez (WES9) is part of a series of Social Justice Leader rocks created by students of Whittier ece-8 in Colorado. We invite you to visit all WES rocks and submit your comments and feedback.

If you have found this rock or would like to continue this story, let us know!
