The Life and Legacy of Frida the Rock

This is how the story of Frida begins (by Joe J., grade 8).

Frida is a very quiet rock in general. But just because she is quiet, doesn’t mean she is shy or insecure, though. Frida is a Mexican rock. As a baby-rock, Frida remembers taking cover in her house, to keep away from the gunfire of the Mexican-American war. Currently, she is married and has children. She enjoys painting self-portraits.  She says that she paints herself because she knows herself best. Frida has had a uni-brow since her rock-birth. Frida is very patriotic towards Mexico, which is why the Mexican flag colors are in the background of the rock.

Frida (RMS207) is part of a series of ‘Artist’ rocks created by students 8th grade Visual Arts Students in Mrs. Hahn’s class at Rogers Middle School, Minnesota, USA. We invite you to visit all RMS rocks and submit your comments and feedback.
