This is how the story of Hope begins (by BriarCeshire, grade 4).
“Peep Peep!!” I heard close to the lake. That’s when I saw a wet, yellow, sort of fuzzy small creature.
As I crept slowly, closer and closer, I found out that it was a newborn baby chick. I looked around to see if the mother was anywhere. I ran quickly inside and got my mom’s gloves, a small cardboard box, and put a blanket in it then ran back outside. I put my mom’s gloves on picked up the chick and put it in the box. I walked back inside my home, rushed up to my room put the box on my bed and ran back downstairs to my backyard where I plucked out a cob of corn and went back inside. I got a plate and started taking off little pieces of corn and brought it back to my room and there I fed it to the baby chick.
“I’ll call you Hope!”
