The Detector

This is how the story of Mr. Squeeze begins (by VM, grade 6).

“Mom, can Jason and I go camping on the island in the middle of the sea?” I asked.

“Of course,” my mom said. “But keep clear of the detector,” mom included.

“Okay,” I said. So I called my friend and told him we could camp.

After that we packed my stuff and went to Jason’s. That was really exciting. We took Jason’s boat and then we rode to the island. Then we built up our place to camp. After that we played soccer and ran on the beach and had fun.

Suddenly it got to be night and we wanted to go to sleep. But then behind me there was a noise. I turned my face and saw directly into the face of the detector!

… to be continued.
