Correctional Food Service Coordinator

CORRECTIONAL FOOD SERVICE COORDINATOR:  The Clarinda Correctional Facility in Clarinda, Iowa is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Correctional Food Service Coordinator.  The Correctional Food Service Coordinator supervises and directs Department of Corrections dietary offender workers in the performance of all assigned duties and responsibilities relating to food preparation, tray assembly, modified diets, meal delivery, dietary sanitation and all other duties as assigned for the clientele of the Clarinda Correctional Facility campus.  Salary Minimum $47,008/ Maximum $69,118. 

Minimum Qualification Requirements include Graduation from high school or G.E.D.

In addition, the following selection requirements apply:

The equivalent of two years of full-time work experience in mass food production in a commercial, military, hospital, or institution food services setting

Or an equivalent of experience and education substituting thirty semester (or equivalent) hours of accredited college or university coursework in dietetics, nutrition, food management or a closely related field for one year of the required experience

Or employees with current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to one year of full-time work as a Cook 1, Cook 2, Baker 1 or Baker 2.

Satisfactory completion of a background investigation check, a post-offer health screen and a valid driver's license and in some instances, a valid CDL.

All new hires are required to complete the following:

Successful completion after hire of a four-week Pre-service Training Program. 

Successful completion of a six-month probationary period during which final job suitability is determined.
