(Kansas City) -- The Kansas City Royals have claimed outfielder Bubba Thompson.
Thompson most recently played for the Texas Rangers. He appeared in 37 games, managing a .170/.237/.283 line with four RBI in 53 at-bats.
Additionally, outfielder Edward Olivares has been optioned to the Royals' Triple-A affiliate in Omaha.
