(Stanton) -- Former Stanton great Kadie Subbert was officially welcomed to the KMA Sports Hall of Fame on Tuesday night.
Subbert, who was honored in a short ceremony prior to the East Mills/Stanton match, finished with over 1,100 kills and hit for incredible efficiency during her illustrious career.
Subbert says her most memorable moment with the Viqueens remains their trip to the state tournament in her senior year.
"I just remember always have a good time with my friends and having my sister with me my senior year," Subbert said. "It's all really good memories."
In Stanton's 2011 trip to Cedar Rapids, Subbert helped the Viqueens advance to the state semifinals - their only win at state in school history.
Subbert was the second of three Subbert sisters - Christa the eldest and Carmen the youngest - that are all likely to one day have their own place in the KMA Sports Hall of Fame.
"After Christa was so successful, I just wanted to keep it going. I was always looking to win and get those championships."
Subbert joins Red Oak great Kara Paul and former Red Oak and Harlan coach Angie Spangenberg in the volleyball wing of the Hall of Fame.
"(The Hall of Fame) means everything," she added. "I was kind of (surprised) of getting it. I was thinking one of my sisters would get it before me. I'm just very honored and thankful."
