If we’ve learned anything from this year’s WASDE reports, it’s that you always have to be prepared for the unexpected. More often than not, the estimates turn out to be mostly accurate, and that was the case with this month’s report. Looks can be deceiving, though, as Allendale commodity broker Greg McBride said the August WASDE report isn’t as friendly as it looks.
McBride said it takes a deeper look into the numbers to see where the potential issues lie.
As we approach the end of the marketing year for the old crop contracts, McBride said the situation actually looks better than it might initially appear.
Moving forward, McBride said the markets are almost done looking at the weather conditions so closely.
