This is how the story of Jodie begins (by Casey G., middle school).

Once upon a time there was a rock named Jodie. Jodie was a very special rock. Jodie looked like a ladybug. Jodie loved her home. Jodie loved the water and she loved the sand. Jodie was very happy.

One day it was warm and sunny. A family came to go fishing. A little boy wandered over and picked Jodie right up out of the sand and into his pocket. Jodie did not like this and was angered by this. Jodie did not know where she was going or what was happening but it was cold, dry sandy and smelled like the pond. All Jodie wanted was to go home.

To be continued…
