This post was originally published in 2012 but we love the Social Justice Project and wanted to revisit some of these great stories.
This is how the story of Rosa Parks begins (by Abriana, elementary).
I am the person who started the bus boycott. I was born on February 4th, 1979. I lived with both my parents. I grew up in the time of segregation. As a kid, the blacks sat in the back of the bus and the whites in the front. It was very unfair. I was the woman to put a stop to it.
One day I was coming home from work and my legs were killing me. So after a few stops a white man said “get to the back.” So I said “No” and I got arrested. I was sent to jail and this started the bus boycott wit Martin Luther King Jr. The laws were changed.
I am Rosa Parks.
