This post was originally published in 2012 but we love the Social Justice Project and wanted to revisit some of these great stories.

This is how the story of Rosa Parks begins (by Brandy, elementary).

I’m the first person who didn’t give up my seat. I didn’t give up my seat because I was tired and didn’t want to walk to the back of the bus. I was sitting down and this passenger said, “move.” I said, “I’m not going to move.” The passenger went to go tell the police I wouldn’t move. They took me to jail. The big thing that came from this was the boycott.

I am Rosa Parks.

To be continued…
