REPOSTING: A Man of Courage

This post was originally published in 2012 but we love the Social Justice Project and wanted to revisit some of these great stories.

This is how the story of Mahatma Gandhi begins (by Tya, elementary).

I am the man of courage.

I changed India but I am not a hero, just a person like you. I was very important to history. I helped people realize human rights. I had a safer way to do so. I believed.

I believed in non-violence. That was my key to freedom. I was persistent and understandable. I kept doing what I could and kept going to jail repeatedly. I’m sure people understand that non-violence is a safer way and human rights are important!

I am Man of Courage, Mahatma Gandhi.

To be continued…

Mahatma Gandhi (WES2) is part of a series of Social Justice Leader rocks created by students of Whittier ece-8 in Colorado. We invite you to visit all WES rocks and submit your comments and feedback.
