This is how the story of Super Stormy Horsey begins (by Pop Rocks, grade 4).
One day I was walking along a path and I was about to turn the corner but there was a storm upon me and I didn’t know what to do. I hid in a hollow tree trunk.
Just so you know, this wasn’t just any storm, this was a dark gloomy lightning storm. The trees were howling and the wind was barking. I was so so scared so I just covered my head and kneeled down on the ground like one of those tornado drills you have at school.
I knew at that time something was wrong so I dashed out of the log and then the ground started to shake. It was an EARTHQUAKE!!!!! I quickly scurried back into that gargantuan log like no other person could do.
At this point I didn’t know what to do, I just tried to stay calm but then out of nowhere this rock appeared. I said, “who are you?”
Then I said, “Wait rocks can’t talk.” And she said, “I am Super Stormy Horsey.”
“Wow, rocks really can talk,” I said.
We talked for a little bit then I said, “Wait, how do you talk? I mean every rock I’ve ever seen couldn’t talk. They would just sit there and be super boring. So how come you talk?”
She told me she didn’t know how she could talk but she just knew whenever someone was in trouble and she would go and make them feel better. Before I knew it the storm was over and the rock was gone. But it was nice to have some company I just knew the rock was a superhero.
